Snooker
 

The game of snooker is played on a pocket billiard table. Fifteen red, six coloured, and one white cue ball are used. Points are scored by pocketing balls and by forcing an opponent to give away points through “snookers.” It may be played by two persons, pairs, or teams.

 
Triangle

A triangular rack is used to position the red balls for the start of play.

 
Table

Snooker is played on any standard pocket billiard table.

 
Scoreboard

The score is recorded on a board showing units, tens, and hundreds.

 
Cues and rests

Cues and rests are as for English billiards.

 
Scoring values

Snooker balls score as follows:
red, one point;
yellow, two points;
green, three points;
brown, four points;
blue, five points;
pink, six points;
black, seven points.

 
Balls

The 22 balls must all be of equal size and weight. English balls are 2 1/16in in diameter, American 2 1/8in.
