Roller hockey
 

Roller hockey is played by two teams of five players on a firm and level rink surrounded by a barrier. Players are allowed to play the ball only with their sticks, although they may stop it with any part of their bodies. Teams score goals by hitting the ball into the net. The game is similar to ice hockey, but it is played on roller skates.

 
Rink

a 50cm line
b penalty spot
c front and rear penalty area spots
d centre line
e centre spot

The surface must be firm but not slippery, and must be surrounded by a barrier 8in high.

 
Skates

Roller skates must be bolted to the boots. There must be at least 4 3/4in between the axles. The wheels must be at least 1 1/4in in diameter. No metal or projections are allowed on the boots.

 
The stick

The stick must be of the dimensions shown and must not weigh more than 18oz, is made of wood and must have no metal parts. Binding is allowed. The blade must be curved, and flat on both sides.

 
Ball

It must be of one colour and contrast with the rink. Weight 5 1/2oz. Circumference 9in.
